Lunch bell rings. No kids out.

The kids English teacher is on an all day surf trip today. So I am playing substitute teacher.
Six word stories ( trickier than you think) and book cover to design.

Play to your strengths.
My punctuation and spelling are atrocious.

Everyone here. Everyone gone. Silent peepers.

  1.  Ernest Hemingway was once prodded to compose a complete story in six words. His answer, personally felt to be his best prose ever, was

"For sale: baby shoes, never worn"
those 6 words always make both Noah and I a little teary.
Holly says "the baby didn't die it just didn't like the shoes his mum picked out"

  1. I love the fact the Holly had a perfectly reasonable explanation, no emotional context just pure logic.. brilliant.... Chilli snoozing on the verandah curled up on his fleecy blanket, never strays further than the back yard! we thought about writing a book "the adventures of chili the cat" fancy doing the illo's? where has he been? who was feeding him? maybe a project for the chandler kids?

  2. what a brilliant idea Jo. The kids are really excited about your book idea. some of the scenarios they have thought up have been quite amazing.

  3. I've come up with some characters too...
a couple of bush turkey's called Mabel and Terence, Mabel is a bit crotchety, she can't bare the fact that Chili eats so loudly and Terence is a bit of a know-all, who gives directions to Chili on how to get to the northern beaches with horrendous consequences.
Levi the lyre bird taunts chilli in a game of hide a seek.
The EVIL Magpie Billy the Bully and his gang the Vaders I can't stop, I need to STUDY!!!!
